I remember being petrified of the millennium bug. My five year old brain thought a giant insect was coming to destroy us all. I'm glad it didn't. I'm also glad I listened to Dan Taberski's podcast about the different experiences of welcoming the millennium. Surviving Y2K has been a very fascinating insight on stories I'd never heard about before. Makes my giant insect nightmare feel minuscule in comparison.
Dan's a great podcast creator and he is very enjoyable to listen to. This was a bunch of disconnected stories about y2k that were pretty intersting, but it honestly seemed a little disjointed and I lost interest in some of the stories.
Dan Taberski is one of the best podcast creators out there. The plot twists, the way he simplifies a story without dumbing it down, the way the story seems to break naturally into individual episodes: it must have taken so long to create a perfect structure, but it just comes out as delightful and entertaining. I wish every podcast could be this good.
Dan takes us on a journey of an event I lived through but hadn't considered in such detail. The personal journey that Dan goes through is a nice addition that I wasn't expecting considering the topic. Worth a listen
This is an absolute masterpiece! So many stories interwoven, so brilliantly told. Surprising, chocking, amazing, funny, intimate, crazy, insane, fascinating and not easy to let go.
