I wish they recorded more episodes. It's the absolute best thing ever. Their intelligence, their creativity, and their relationship brings such joy into the world. And we need a lot more of that these days.
Home Cooking, Thanksgiving: Sage Wisdom (with Demi Adejuyigbe):Each episode opens with a sponsor, typically one related to the food industry such as Sunni, a meal delivery service. Sometimes I would feel annoyed by how much they rambled on about ingredients and backstories. Yes, most stories were funny, but it went on and on without a break for 53 minutes each episode. These people know how to talk your head off for sure which some of their listeners might love however I thought it was a bit overwhelming. I found this podcast using google on a article website. Many recommended it for these who are into cooking and food. I was curious to see what a food podcast would be like; would it be exciting at all? Would there just be a bunch of dishes that are described? Turns out both are true. The most memorable episode was the first one because of the sponsor message. It sounded bright and cheery, very welcoming and helpful to those who can’t get food outside their house due to COVID. This was a great marking point for me to remember the episode details such as cranberry sauce that is used in many ways and processed in different ways by each podcaster. One speaker would state a dish, the ingredients and then the process while the other reacted and replied with their own personal methods, feelings or thoughts. They would even debate how to improve the meals and deserts, changing ingredients and answers that link back to past experiences. Cranberry is a key ingredient to pay attention to since this podcast takes place during Thanksgiving. One question I would like to ask the host is if she made her turkey in the oven or in a pot because I’ve seen someone do it in a pot before which was quite concerning. I would like the podcast to also cover more international dishes and foods in the future rather than focusing on American based foods. The topic would be appropriate because it relates to different cultures of food and can offer more history rather than some boring American cooking family house recipe. It gives diversity which would deepen the understanding of other tastes.
