In this episode we delve into the subject of Mindfulness.
Lots of us have heard the word, but do we truly understand it?
We talk about it today with Catherine Kell who not only used it to help her through one of the toughest times in her life, but isnow in a MUCH better place and is pioneering her own fantastic work in the field.
Religious thing? Do we need to sit and chant? Wear robes? Go to a monastry in Tibet?
Actually, none of those things. It is true to say that mindfulness has been practised by people who do these things as well
, but you do not have to.
And chances are you probably don't want to. Me neither!
Mindfulness has been adapted from Buddhism to serve our Western Scientific Mindset.
It is simple. Requires no belief system.And it works.
Se, we are in exciting leading edge times, with huge understandings and advances in Neuroscience,where we can measure
the effects of this and other practises.
Oxford Uni studied it. Ruby Wax studied with one of the pioneers in the field Professor Mark Williams, (who I am a major fan of and he does not even know it!)
