*** TRIGGER WARNING - POSTNATAL DEPRESSION DISCUSSED ***
Giving birth during the pandemic, two weeks earlier than expected was a shock for Dee.
She was fortunate to miss the start of the pandemic which was affecting pregnancies and births.
However, the day she left hospital was the day everything started in her country.
She was incredibly fortunate to not have her pregnancy or birth impacted by COVID-19, but sadly, Dee was unable to fulfil her cultural expectations of having her maternal mother with her for the first 3 months post-baby.
Her mum saw her for two days but then was unable to see Dee or baby Zion until December...a full 9 months after he arrived.
Dee openly discusses how this pandemic has caused her to battle with postnatal depression, and she does share some thoughts and feelings that other may find distressing, so please bear that in mind before watching.
