The University of Washington connected with elected officials and over 100 leaders from 60 Washington-based businesses on campus September 18, 2006 at the Ideas to Innovation summit for CEOs. The first meeting of its kind at the UW, one of the summit’s goals was to position the state of Washington as the epicenter for global health, environmental sustainability and technology in the 21st century. Governor Christine Gregoire and UW President Mark Emmert spoke, along with area business leaders and UW researchers.
