Often the 1st step in Healing from Wounds, Traumas, Painful events or experiences is Forgiving the act and the person who caused it. This is so hard to do as we hold onto the emotional pain like a badge. We feel it somehow validates what the person has done, and letting it go condones their act. This is not true.. We forgive for us...not the person who caused the pain.. Holding onto it is like drinking poision and expecting another will die.. We only hurt ourselves by holding one..
