With more than 150 works of art, In the Company of Cats and Dogs offers a multifaceted look at our dynamic relationship with felines and canines. Throughout the ages, and across numerous cultures, these animals have been laborers, companions, and even food. The exhibition includes Egyptian sculpture, medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, prints, books, photographs, and paintings drawn from the Blanton’s collection and supplemented with numerous loans. This podcast features University of Texas at Austin faculty, graduate students, and the Blanton’s museum staff discussing the ever-changing roles of cats and dogs as well as our enduring fascination with them. The In the Company of Cats and Dogs podcast includes 13 tracks recorded and edited by Mary Myers at the Blanton Museum of Art.
