My other half loves knitting, so we gave this one a SPEEN once during a trip: two most recent episodes, around November I think. It was bizarre. First there was like 5-10 min. of sponsors. I mean sure, maybe that's par for the course for bagpipes-and-knitting podcasts, then came the host's supply purchases, then updates she and her husband's garden, what produce they got out of it. Then a detailed report on the birds she's seen on her windowsill since last episode... We tried the previous one: it was about her grandmother, who also knitted, but the focus was on her parenting. I don't want to sound harsh, I'd listen to the podcast again if in the right mood, but above all else those episodes made me wonder if the host was doing okay: what decisions led her to be talking about almost no knitting and no bagpipes at all in her bagpipes-and-knitting show. It conveyed the same feeling as would a journal of a stranded expedition to the magnetic north pole.
