When my son was born back in 2014 I was re-birthed, as a mama. His arrival in our lives was no surprise, but we had no idea how having a child born with immediate medical and ongoing special needs would turn our lives upside down, in the best possible way.

Now as I bumble my way through this parenting journey, I realize just how isolating, overwhelming and exhausting mothering can be, how utterly delicious, necessary and inconsistent sleep is, how easy it can be to lose our sense of self as we take on this enormous role of caring for another human life, and how much relief can be found in one simple phrase uttered by a mama who has been there: “You are not alone.”Through all the ups and downs, connecting with other moms and hearing their stories is the one thing that has offered me the greatest solace and inspiration. So, I created the Mama Love Podcast to create connection and share stories from mamas just like you and me.

I want to talk about the tough stuff, the social taboos, the things we only whisper to our girlfriends over coffee, the things we mask when people ask “How’s it going?” And we mutter with a forced smile, “Great!”
