We continue with The Life of David - Part 9. We’ve long considered a thorough study of his life and are now engaged in the beauty, power, challenge and complexity of it as we seek to continue to learn the way of Jesus together. We have more about David’s life and choices in the Old Testament than any other character, including Moses. We recognize God’s choice of David to lead Israel from the shepherd fields when no one else would have, a man described to be after the heart of God, yet over the course of his kingship, much transpired that introduced pain and ruin into his story and that of Israel. How are we to hold David’s story? What can we learn and grow from in our response to God? These questions and more will be tackled in this study that will carry us through into the spring of 2024.
