This podcast episode is actionable advice on why batch work is beneficial and how to batch work Instagram content.

A question I often get asked about batch work is how to do it without it feeling stale. For the mindful influencer – your work feels deeply soulful and it’s tough to translate it all at once. Sometimes you feel it in the moment! I’m going to share how you can batch work your Instagram content AND keep it from feeling stale.

Here’s what you’ll learn in today’s episode on How to Batch Work: [8:45] Set Time Aside in Your Calendar to Batch Work

Seriously – setting aside time to batch work is key. You should be spending 80% of your time promoting content and 20% of your time creating it. If your ratio is off – it is time to batch!

To do this – you need to block off your calendar to find time to batch work. This keeps you accountable that there is nothing in your calendar during that time & you can really focus. When we focus on one task for an extended period of time – we start to get into a flow state.

A flow state is the ideal work state. It can also be called “in the zone”. It’s when you are so engrained in a task that you are moving so smoothly you feel like you are flowing!

Alternatively when we are avoiding something – we want to do everything else except that task. By blocking your calendar – you are clearing your schedule to focus only on the task at hand.

[9:45] Lay Out Your Content In Advance

Laying out your content in advance is so key. We want to know what our Instagram page will look like before we post it. Think of it like a magazine & lay out all of your posts in advance to avoid overwhelm & have the most aesthetically pleasing feed.

We do not need to worry about posting in real time. There’s very few cases where this is really necessary. I recycle photos or post photos from a year ago & no one knows or notices! Give yourself some grace and space to not feel the pressure to post in real time.

Pro Tip: Try PLANN to lay out all your photos in advance.

[13:15] The Tip to Batch Content without It Feeling Stale

I’ve heard from so many Mindful Influencers that they want to feel really connected to their content and make it feel soulful. My pro tip for this is to write the content topic in your captions of PLANN in advance – but write the caption the day of. This does two things for you:

  • Keeps you from being overwhelmed as you do not have to write multiple microblogs at once. Instagram captions are microblogs really.
  • Keeps you connected to the feeling and soul of the post. For me – it is hard to recreate that magic of writing in the moment if I write multiple post captions all at once.
