My Mental Toolkit was created with the intent of providing down-to-earth information on mental health issues that affect both individuals and their families and friends. Darrell Brimhall M.D., a family physician, has struggled with depression and anxiety from a young age. In this podcast, his goal is to help share his experiences and understanding of these conditions, along with the added benefit of learning patterns from thousands of patients over the years. Mental health treatment tends to focus on solutions that emphasize cures when unfortunately, for most individuals, cures are unrealistic. His methodology focuses on management tools, or a toolkit, and an understanding of self because like any great project or problem, many tools are required. Topics are generally organized by specific issues that are rarely addressed in general mental health information, and targeted both for the individual with the condition, and their family and friends.
