I have been active on social media for a year, and in that time my TikTok account has grown to 52.6k followers, 3.1 millions "likes" and I have had six videos top a million views. This is quite remarkable for a 52 year old man chronicling a weight loss journey! 

In this video, I share my tips and advice on how to develop a presence on social media. I often despair at some of the messages shared by so called social media "gurus" and I thus attempt to give a balanced perspective of how growth is possible for people posting wholesome and authentic content that tells and develops a story. I do not have all the answers, but I hope my reflections are especially useful for others of a certain age who wish to grow and develop their influence on social media.
