Let's talk about deep breathing. You might think this is a silly topic since we all know how to breathe right? Well, yes, but most of us don't know how to properly breathe. Most of us take short and shallow breaths which can actually make us more anxious and it also drains our energy. So what happens when we breathe? When we inhale, our blood cells receive oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Improper breathing upsets this exchange and contributes to anxiety, panic attacks, fatigue and other physical and emotional disturbances. We don't want this right? By learning how to properly breathe, we release tension, stress and toxins, have a lower level of stress in our body as well as high blood pressure and improved posture, digestion and heart health.
