Compassion is acknowledging, becoming aware of suffering and that of the shared human condition that spares no one. Everyone deserves compassion and is worthy of it, including your own self. Many people however think that compassion for the self is another form of self indulgence or self pity. 

The truth is that by giving yourself the gift of compassion that you can take care of yourself in a loving and caring manner especially in challenging circumstances.
