When you meet a big furry bearcat creature in the forest, you grab a hold and fly. Let's go fly a Totoro. My Neighbor Totorowas directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released on 16 April 1988 by Studio Ghibli.
The film follows two young sisters Satsuki and Mei, who with their father move to a new place while their mother is suffering from Tuberculosis in a hospital. While dealing with life altering events they meet a forest spirit named Totoro.
Truly a slice of life sort of film, which is unique for both animation and a children's movie. Totoro has become immensely popular among audiences, he's now the mascot for Studio Ghibli.
