A sad reality that is the new norm for our youngest generations - and every one after it. As a country the populace can not seem to marshal the political will to enact the sort of change that would preclude even having to consider this measures...so instead we form piecemeal and likely inadequate reactionary policies at the individual level of classrooms and schools...while other countries' children pull further and further ahead of our own in terms of skill achievements and knowledge-competencies, we burden ours with practicing to prepare for a problem that does not even exist in other developed first-world nations.
