When the Apple Watch was released in April 2015, adoption numbers weren’t what many experts expected. An estimated 2.53 million watches shipped in the first two months post release compared to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (74.5 million units in Q4 of 2014). These numbers combined with the confusion surrounding the Apple Watch’s purpose—whether it’s a standalone product, a viable marketing tool or just a nice accessory—led many to declare the Apple Watch a “flop.” We disagree with that. In our inaugural episode, we talk about just how well the Apple Watch has done. The Apple Watch may not have been everything we imagined, but it’s accomplished a lot more than you may think.
