So, I'm just this funny and curious Filipina-American New Yorker girl, who on March 5, 2015, was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer. Being in my 30s, I underwent a double mastectomy, and to heal, I decided to open a radio station for some kind of fun revenge on the diagnosis. My previous career had me staring into computers all day. With my new lease on life I decided I now want to stare into faces all day and meet all the interesting people in this world while I'm still in it.
When I was going through chemotherapy I could not listen to music. For me as a DJ, music was too emotional for an already über emotional experience. I was more interested in stories but I found reading was difficult due to brain fog. This is why I created Interesting People Radio. For listeners like me. This is what I needed. I believe that if you create what you need, others will benefit, too.
Interesting People Radio was formed to capture the wisdom, humor and true stories of the people who cross my path for folks like me sitting in that chemo chair, bored at the gym or on a commute, as well as for folks who simply crave some surprising entertainment and insight from people they would have otherwise never "met."
THERE IS
there is somewhere
Someone sitting in a chemotherapy chair
there is somewhere
Someone on a treadmill, bored, going nowhere
there is somewhere
Someone on a lonely walk and they need something to hear
there is somewhere
Someone on their commute to work and they need their mind cleared
there is somewhere
Someone kicking back on their sofa with an ice cold beer and saag paneer
And there is somewhere
Someone who is blind, can't see pics on HONY, but they sure can hear
And this is why IPR Interesting People Radio is bringing your stories to all their ears
There is so much story in you.
I want to help you tell it.
There are hungry ears waiting.
What's it like to be you?
