Podcast Movement has announced another set of speakers for the keynote, and this time it’s not just one person.

Podcast Movement announced that there are going to be two more sets people in for the keynotes at their conference this year, and as you may have heard earlier this year Dan Carlin is going to be a keynote speaker. He’s the host of Hardcore History and Common Sense, both podcasts are widely known especially Hardcore History, I hear that it is just a great show for anyone that’s remotely interested in learning about history.

And for anyone who may not know, Podcast Movement is a conference that happens each year and it is one of the biggest if not the biggest conferences in the country.

I got to go in 2016 where it was held in Chicago, I learned a ton and got to bump into one of my heroes, Kevin Smith, after his keynote and it was such a blast, it was in Chicago. This year it is in Anaheim, California And if you can go I highly suggest you do

Tickets are a bit pricey and also has added cost for travel and hotel. But you could get your company to pay for it if you work in the industry so it could be beneficial for you.

Anyway back to the keynote speakers, the keynote speakers are actually the co-hosts of the same show. They are all hosts of the Undisclosed podcast, Rabia Chaudry, Colin Miller, and Susan Simpson, the cover criminal justice in America, wrongly convicted people, and some well known cases. Right now they are focusing on Freddie Gray. If you haven’t listened to the show before I highly suggest you do. It gets millions of downloads from what I understand. I’m excited to see what they have to bring to the table. I am not sure if it is the first true crime podcast to get a keynote but the True Crime genre has been on the rise.

Finally the last person announced as a keynote speaker as of now is Shannon Cason. He has worked with WBEZ ad has his own podcast called The Homemade Stories. He has produced an hour long special called The Struggle is Real, has worked with Snap Judgement and The Moth. He seems to have a knack for great storytelling and seeing he hails from Detroit and I am also a Michigander I am excited to hear what he has to say. I am also interested in what he has to say because he’s a radio personality who got into podcasting.

I am not sure if there will be more keynote speakers, they had a few more than three last year, so there may be more coming out of the woodworks in the coming months, but that is just my guess for now since there isn’t any indication from Podcast Movement on this.

If you want to let me know what your think of this I am on Twitter and Facebook, and if you know more about these keynote speakers or their work I would love to hear from you! just get a hold of me on social media.

I have links in the description and at ThePodcastBrief.com and you can find more from there.

Anyway that is all I have for you guys today and I will have more for you tomorrow. Until then though my name is Jeff Perry and this has been the Podcast Brief.
