There are no bees on typhon
Outstanding podcast. Goes off in a sort of weird direction but after listening to the author I get why.
Interesting one, but couldn't really make a sense of the plot, abandoned after about the first 20 episodes.
Took me almost two seasons to realise there isn't much of a real story, just an idea and a whole bunch of someone's sadistic fantasies posing as art.
Meh, lost my interest.
I found this back in high school being sick of WTNV and adoring Within the Wires. This is the best of those 2 worlds. The world building is perfect. It's balance of feeding you lore in background, use of real world tech/science, and bone chilling horror. I listen to it to bed and always wait around for the next season.
Sayer is a great step into an alternate universe that really makes you reflect on not just Artificial Intelligence, but on the human condition in general. The intellectual base for this podcast is well-thought out, and beautifully crafted into a rich and complex story that a listener can easily get lost in. Well done!
I adored SAYER and I can hardly wait for more!!!
The presentation of this podcast is a really great concept, and is executed beautifully. The conscious AI SAYER is a voice in one’s head directing them through the myriad fatal dangers that come with living on Typhon, and Adam Bash’s voice acting perfectly toes the line between soothing and unsettling. The writing is spectacular, and is full of brilliantly dark humor with clever references. I also can’t help but enjoy the irony of listening to a story about expendable workers in a merciless corporate facility while I myself toil away in a warehouse like an underpaid worker bee.
Horrific, thrilling, and compelling. I adore this podcast and its characters. Easily some of the best AI characters I've seen in fiction--and the only podcast I've relistened to. It's incredibly good. I cannot recommend it more.
If GladOS and HAL9000 had a child, it might sound like this. Witty, insightful and sometime touching. If you got this far stop reading and start listening.
The only downside of this podcast is that there aren't more episodes. I love the interactions of the AI programs w/ the inhabitants of Typhon. I find they're monotone snark & veiled threats highly amusing.
Easily one of my favorite podcasts, and one I highly recommend to sci-fi/horror fans, especially fans of AI and transhumanism in fiction. The first few seasons are more episodic, but seasons four and five are heavily plot-driven. Also the voice is just really soothing to listen to.
One of my earlier ventures into the realm of fictional podcasts, and still one of my favorites. I'm super into the whole insidious AI bent, and am glad it's back from the break.
Excellent audio quality, but I just can't get into this format. Experimental and creepy and legitimately hurts my ears. Very art house. YMMV.
Best sci-fi story/podcast in a long time!
My favorite podcast. Humorous, philosophical, cynical, and terrifying. Outstanding audio and voice acting. Outstanding plot.
The show is a slow burn that relies too much on repeating some beats and the sound effects and editing do a lot of the heavy lifting early on. As time goes on the larger story unfolds and it is truly great stuff but the show has a couple of points in which it could have ended.
This podcast is unique in that there is one voice actor for different characters, so sometimes it's hard to keep up with which character is speaking (using the publicly available transcripts is super helpful). It's an eerie podcast that makes you feel unsettled in a slow build-up and story. I enjoy it, and I am looking forward to more episodes! I recommend this podcast if you're looking for a horror sci-fi narrative.
Beautifully haunting podcast that really immerses you in an alternate universe and consciousness. Currently only on episode 15 but excited to keep listening
