This is a story about a woman who gave herself permission to laugh. Pray, we make it. Creole food serves as a point of inspiration and aspiration for Black folks. The dialect ingredients are Cajun vernacular English mixed with linguistic gumbo. Theatre is a slice of life, and this lyrical adaptation is of my day’s journey.
