We taste and rate the following gin cocktails from 1-5:
9:27 The Last Word3/4 ounce gin – Freeland Dry or any good London Dry Style3/4 ounce Green Chartreuse3/4 ounce maraschino liqueur - Luxardo3/4 ounce fresh lime juiceAdd all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
20:10 Bijou1.5 oz gin3/4 oz green chartreuse3/4 oz vermouth rojo (preferably spanish: lacuesta, yzaguirre, p. Quilted4 dashes Regan's orange bittersTwist of orange, Add olive is optional
28:25 Bennett2 oz. gin¾ oz. fresh lime juice¾ oz. simple syrup2 dashes Angostura bittersTools: shaker, strainerGlass: cocktailGarnish: lime wheelShake all ingredients with ice to chill, then strain into a chilled glass. Garnish.
36:20 Corpse Reviver No. 2Absinthe, to rinse – rinse the mixing cup with ice and strain out3/4 ounce London dry gin – preference to Mahon3/4 ounce Lillet blanc3/4 ounce orange liqueur – Cointreau or Pierre Ferrand Curacao 3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
Use a coupe glass, add the Absinthe to the mixing shaker and strain out, Mix everything else in the same shaker, and strain into glass. Garnish with an Orange Twist.
