Martin Warne was born in England where he enjoyed his early years. He moved to the United States at the age of 8 and his life changed. As the new kid in a new school, Martin was bullied. He realized he was gay from a young age but without a good support system, he struggled coming to terms with this fact.
Martin tried many different ways to hide his pain and loneliness and he was doing it all alone. In college his mental health started to deteriorate and he began binge eating. Drugs and alcohol soon followed and out of that came an addiction to methamphetamine that would ravage his life.
After numerous geographical cures and lost job opportunities, Martin was left homeless and hopeless. It was time for a change. He flew home across the country one last time and made a phone call out of desperation. He was introduced to long term recovery through a 12 step fellowship and sober living.
Today he is 4 years sober and works in the field of Peer Support helping others get their lives on the right path.
