On today's episode, Pamela and I discuss ways in which we can rid ourselves of automatic negative thoughts. We talk about how we can dismantle thoughts that keep us stuck by asking a series of questions.

We give you the next two questions to help you dismantle your automatic negative thoughts in the episode:

"Did the thought originate with me?"

"Is the thought serving me?"

Oftentimes, we adopt beliefs and thoughts that attach to our subconscious that don't actually reflect who we are. But we believe them because we were told them at a developmental part of our lives and we don't know how to rid ourselves of them or challenge them.

Questioning our thoughts and where they came from can be massively beneficial because we can look at them objectively.

If the thoughts or ideas that we have about ourselves aren't serving us in any meaningful way, we should get rid of them. If they aren't moving us towards our goals or adding value to our lives in some way, we should get rid of them.

Time Stamps:

0:40 - Where did the thought originate?

1:42 - Did the thought come from myself, society, an adult, a parent, tv, etc?

2:10 - When we assume we're introverted vs extroverted.

4:00 - Pamela tells a coach story.

6:33 - Is the thought serving me and moving me toward my goals?

7:20 - Dismantling ANTS allows us to move forward.

9:10 - If the thought isn't serving us, it's going to keep us stuck.

11:18 - Recognize the ANTS when the pop up.

15:00 - This is what we do in therapy generally.
