i'm biased but i think it's pretty neat :)
This podcast is the “good soup” of podcasts. Gender envy? Check. Eye imagery? You bet! Spooks and scares? Obviously! Hilarious moments? Of course! Skilled young actors and producers, not to mention wonderful writers? You bet. And the cherry on top is the theme music. No, I’m not biased. This is the best podcast. Go listen to it! Go! NOW!
This podcast has a lot of promise, the mini episodes have been delightful and I honestly can't wait more episodes to come out.
I really want to like this podcast. The representation is great and the setting seems fun. But there are two main problems I have. Story spoilers ahead:1 - 'This Gun That I Have in My Right Hand is Loaded' aka characters will describe things out loud for the audience even if it doesn't make sense in universe. This shows up a lot in the fight scenes where characters will describe the weapons they are holding in a way that sounds really unnatural.2 - The main characters, other than Sam, are really unlikeable. After Chip goes missing they just accept he is dead. They then get angry at Sam for suggesting that maybe Chip isn't dead, even when she finds evidence to suggest he is alive. This makes listening really frustrating. Maybe this changes in later episodes, but by episode 6 Sam is still the only person trying to find her friend while everyone else does nothing but tell her to move on.I feel like this show has promise, but so far it's not an enjoyable listen.
So far there's only one episode out, but it's 50 minutes long and not a lot happens plot wise. Hopefully the next episodes pick up the pace with investigating the disappearance, so far only one of the characters seems actually interested in trying to find their friend.
I listened to all currently available episodes in last 3 days and I enjoyed it immensely. This is a very queer horror/comedy podcast about a group of teenage supernatural investigators living in a strange town, where stranger/creepier than usual things start happening. The minisodes are great, thanks to them I was emotionally invested in the main story from the first minute. I'm looking forward to hearing more from Spiritford!
