I thought we’d be friends for the rest of our lives, as we got older we eventually started to grow apart.TENSIONSometimes our relationship with God feels the same way.We’re afraid to be really be close to God because:• He’ll get mad at us or say something we don’t want to hear.• He’ll ask us to be miserable or give up the things we like.TRUTHHave you ever heard of a guy named Abraham? He’s a pretty big deal and in the early days, He was called Abram.God doesn’t just give Abram commands. He opens with instructions and then keeps on talking.Over and over, God walked with Abram and made promises and kept them. He was drawing Abram closer to Him over time.The story of Abram shows us a God who has always valued being close to His people.
