HOW POST TRAUMATIC STRESS BECOMES POST TRAUMATIC GROWTH

Episode 23 features Majet Reyes, and oh my goodness, this is the episode that our stress-filled brains need right now. Majet is a therapist who specializes in trauma counseling. She helps us all take a moment to remember that our trauma does not define us. The more that you share about your trauma (once you’re ready), the more you heal - your trauma begins to lose the emotion attached to it, and instead it transforms into fact. This process is how Post Traumatic Stress turns into Post Traumatic Growth. Thinking about the growth that occurs after a trauma can be such a gift, especially during the time of a pandemic. 

NAME THAT FEELING 

Majet  also helps us to work through our emotions. The first step she suggests is to name the feeling. Identify how you’re feeling, acknowledge it, and then start to understand it. Becoming self aware is a huge part of the healing process. Majet continues to share about different coping techniques, so that we can work towards healing and resilience.
