My guest today Is Jess Tyrell of ToolShed, a social enterprise working with young people. In the show we explore the similarities, and the differences, between a business and a social enterprise, and talk about what each can learn from the other.
We also look at what sort of business should engage with ToolShed, and why? And we explore their revolutionary approach to providing work experience employees to businesses.
And let’s not forget the bit where I learn about kinaesthetic learning!
ToolShed are a Social Enterprise who are revolutionising education locally. You've heard of apprenticeships, you've heard of work experience but my guess would be you haven't heard about their hybrid. ToolShed carefully match young people with employers and arrange year long work experience placements. The young person works for a business for 3 days a week, at no charge to that business, whilst they study English, Maths & IT with ToolShed. If this sounds like something you could be interested in then listen in!
