I listened to the first 5 episodes. This message is probably not for me given it plays into a narrative of both sides are at fault for not being willing to see eye to eye. But I don't think Black Lives Matter is even remotely close to two sides of equal standing meeting in the middle. There is the police with their use of lethal force and multiple examples of blatant lying or obstruction of justice on one side, and there are the people crying out not to be murdered on the other. This message might play better coming from a character who is deep in the trenches of activism but here, John Mark is a mysterious character whom not many people know about, but whose powerful oratory sways longtime activists. It doesn't fit with reality. He sounds like a character that parachutes in from elsewhere and appropriates the narrative from other activists.
