Imaginative and tantalizing. The hosts base several stories on a listener-selected theme, e.g. gods. They also feature writing contests for listener participation. Who knew terror could be fun....
Absolutely LOVE this podcast. I never gave the genre of horror a second thought until I happened to try this podcast out and now I can't get enough of it! These little tidbits of thrill make my morning drive to work go by in the blink of an eye. Keep making the magic that you do!
This is my favorite podcast and started me on the dark rabbit hole of horror podcasts. Great stories, episodes are the right length and if you are a pateron you can even get special episodes..... If you like No Sleep you will love The Other Stories
Bite-sized fiction ranging from sci-fi to horror, featuring all sorts of creatures from aliens to doppelgangers, things with tentacles to things with no bodies at all.I really enjoy how their stories have a different theme every month. You'd never feel like you've had too much of anything. With a palate cleanser episode at the start of each month that explains the theme for the next few stories.Narrators change per episode. Am on the 43rd theme, 4 episodes per theme, and I've yet to come across a narrator that's made me cringe. And I have a pretty low cringe threshold :DTotally binge-worthy.
After finding and falling in love with TOS, I've wandered around listening to other short horror story podcasts, but i always come back here. It's like coming home. I love Luke and the other narrators, and the stories are always fun! They're a great bunch of folks. I'm always waiting breathlessly for the next story!
A wonderful world of well produced short fiction. Once you dig into the back catalog it will be all you listen to.
TOS runs super dark fantasies and horror stories read by a variety of professional readers. The sound effects add that feeling of realism and terror. They have n awesome FB page too.
The Other Stories offer up weekly doses of original horror & sci-fi themed tales of a high quality. Based around a monthly theme, the range of stories are extremely varied & a highly recommended listen for fans of the macabre.
I love this podcast! Not only are the stories brilliantly spooky, also the narration, careful edition, and sound affects add up to the ambience in a very exciting way. I can only recommend to anyone who wants to dive into a series of really well-told stories.
A great podcast which quickly draws you in. Before you know it, you've listened to all the back episodes as well! Often thought provoking, many of the stories stay with you. There is a wonderful Facebook community to delve into also.
one of my favorite creepy stories and has no politics to deal with
One of my favourite horror podcasts and a regular bedtime listen to me when the lights go out. Excellently produced with a wide range of story types. Excellent stuff.
Love this Podcast! I've been listening for a couple of years now, and still look forward to every episode. Great stories and brilliant storytellers. Fantasy, Horror, Sci Fi etc. Well presented and so enjoyable. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Incredible stories that make you escape reality. The audio quality, sound effects, music and narration is top notch. Hands down my favorite podcast!
Fantastic Podcast. It’s well produced, with a wide variety of voice actors and writers. Its cool how they set up different themes to drive the new stories . The thing I like best about this podcast is fan involvement. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and I feel the most connected to this one as a fan. The audience is often asked to contribute or vote on themes, flash fiction, and there is even a book club, all on Facebook groups where you can interact with the creators and fans alike.
I love all the different tales and stories that can be found here. Some give gruesome mental images while others give me a sense of dread that I personally enjoy at times. I highly recommend The Other Stories to everyone who enjoys a little shiver down their spine as they go about their day.
This podcast is amazing. I've listened to every episode and can't wait to listen to the next one! They also have a wonderful Facebook group called Hawk and Cleaver ?
This is a fantastic podcast! Very original and imaginative stories. No, these are not the stories your mother told you. Superb storytelling.
I just listened to “In-continuity” and loved his the characters were simple, the story short enough to hold my attention, and sound effects were minimal. You see, I get distracted easily so I’m always on the hunt for a podcaster that can tell a story, hold my attention, and give that “Twilight Zone”, “Tales from the Crypt” feel. I grew up with those things and today no one much seems to follow those models any longer (unless I’m missing something. The only reason for the four stars rather than five is because I felt that the narrator sounded somewhat angry. In other words, I could have felt more sympathetic to the character if the voice was different. I really enjoy this podcast and will now listen to another. I hope I find one more on the scary track. Keep it up :)
When people are doing something sincerely and from the heart, it shows. This podcast is one made by such people. Increadible stories, voice acting to the point, great production quality and most of all - the community around it which is as healthy as it can be. Love it and highly recommend.
