The untold stories of the Japanese women, men and children who came to Britain in the 19th century as members of performing troupes and decided to settle there. I'll look at their marriages, divorces, careers, children and brushes with the law. Some episodes will also consider broader themes around immigration and integration - and what their impact was on the arts in Britain, and what we mean by authenticity and originality.
