Michael King speaks fluent Japanese and is currently finishing off his PhD at the University of Oxford university researching children in foster and institutional care in Japan. Recently he was invited by the Japanese government to contribute to the amendment of the child welfare act.
In 2011 he was invited to speak at TEDxTokyo, and his work with orphans of the 2011 Tsunami was also featured on the ITN ‘Tonight’ program, a big news program in the UK,
He recently moved to Manchester and got back into Tai Chi after a long break, he finds that Tai Chi helps him to keep momentum in his doctorate work as well as improving his health and focus.
