Since this is a series that mostly lives in the protagonist’s head, it’s mostly her narration with occasional other characters showing up. I found myself drawn into Anna’s all-encompassing loneliness, her anxiety, her self loathing, and her tentative desire to connect with someone, even under false pretenses.
