In this episode Marisa Zammit chats with Natalie Goldman, Chief Executive Officer of FlexCareers. FlexCareers is changing the way careers work by redefining success, rewriting talent management and re-aligning workplace expectations with the workforce of today. Natalie has been in the CEO role for over a year and she’s made some head waves with offering companies a platform to offer a flexible approach to recruitment and also an easy and effective way for people to find jobs that offer flexibility. So what are the reasons people need flexibility.. it’s not just post childbirth. There are people that need to care for the elderly in their families, they may be involved in sport and hobbies or work in the community or taking on study. You’ll learn what the Flexible Work terms are and what they actually mean and what is changing and what is not in the world of flexible work arrangements. In a recent survey which is still being conducted by Flex Careers, only 32 per cent of people have the opportunity for flexibility, 49 per cent of people suggested they have experienced being bullied or discriminated against in the workplace and 64 per cent of people report that their experiences have put them off returning to the workforce - this is a high figure so we discuss what are the factors putting people returning to work and how is FlexCareers changing this.
