Description

Three women say they were abused by the same Arizona police officer over nearly a decade. When they seek justice, all of them are kept in the dark about his record of lying and illegal conduct – one goes to prison based entirely on his false testimony. We give police officers incredible power and authority but how can citizens trust law enforcement without transparency and accountability? This season on Verified: Full Disclosure, the story of what happens in one state when law enforcement officials routinely fail to track dishonest and disreputable police officers, and how one tenacious reporter uncovers it all.

This is one of the most powerful podcasts I've ever listened to. The bravery of these girls are completely inspiring. As a regular female traveller, this story struck a chord with me. I can't believe this evil predator was able to get away with his horrible actions for such a long time. The podcast itself is very well made & presented, with thorough research and sympathetic hosts. The only thing I didn't like was the texting feature. I thought that asking listeners to text in to receive a photo of the abuser in his police outfit was done in poor taste. Not only that, but it restricts everyone outside the US from being able to see additional content that would usually be available on a website. But the content of the pod was so strong that I still think it deserves 5 stars.
Season 1 - Important subject matter and stories that definitely should be told. However, the host kind of rubbed me the wrong way and it went on too long and got every repetitive.
Two very different, but very well-told stories. Be warned that season 1 can be hard to listen to, given the subject matter, but it's grippingly told. Recommended.
