Adam and Scott discuss “Omega Station”, the eighth and final episode of Season 2 of True Detective. All is revealed … with differing degrees of success. Frank Semyon and Ray Velcoro are laid to rest, literally, while Ani and Jordan are disposed of only narratively. Gritty is good, but did the finale wallow in its bleak world view a little too much? Give us something, anything. (Couldn’t Ray’s message to his son have uploaded successfully? What would be the harm in that?) And for all the talk of feminism and tough, individualistic women, did our female leads have to walk off into the sunset (darkness, actually) with a baby in their arms? It’s time to pull no punches and dissect the final installment of this glorious mess of a season.
