In this episode, I interview Dr. Jennie Rosier, an associate professor of interpersonal communication at James Madison University, who is an expert ion relationships and parenting. She is married to her best friend and has four children herself. You’ll find this relevant as she couples research evidence with her lived experience, and shares some amazing stories stories to illustrate.

Drawing on the wisdom of her newest book The Who Does More War, Dr. Rosier specifically introduces you to the very real challenge of parenthood: both in terms of the common arguments and maintaining connection and empathy through one of the most stressful periods of a relationship. Dr. Rosier speaks to those of you with children, but highlights how extremely important this conversation is for those thinking of having children.

What is covered in this episode:

>> The impact of children on relationship satisfaction

>> Why most people do not understand the impact having a child has on relationships

>> The importance of having conversations about parenting before you have kids and cultivating a shared parenting vision

>> Understanding different attachment styles and how they affect your relationship
