Matt Douglas, also known as D53, and Døgie (pronounced “doug-ee”), is from originally from California (Cupertino), and makes retrofuturistic electronic music. It ranges from house and dance-pop to even the Rhythm and Hip Hop side of things. It takes some form from old M/A/R/R/S tracks, and mashes it with Jeff Beck or Khruangbin. "I have a tough time defining what I make in those terms, but I’m mostly just trying to have a lot of fun making it and doing cool weird stuff." -Matt
Matt used to play in a band called Clusterfunk in Austin from 2016 till earlier this year. Clusterfunk has played at many of the venues in Austin, including empire control room, one-2-one bar, the Mohawk and the Parish, and has opened for or played with a number of great bands such as Big Wy’s Brass Band, TC Superstar, and Lakandon with General Smiley.
