I had no idea the history behind Vanessa Williams- my only exposure or memory of her was to her role on Desperate Housewives.

This was so good. I was too young at the time to understand what was going on, and I don't think most of us would have been ready to see the racism for what it was in 1984. This episode recontextualized Williams' whole story for me.
