For the hard of understanding, note that what follows is satire as I love this show very much. It makes my sides hurt. Here goes: It's informative about the dubious merits of Louisiana food, music and history; it's often funny, if mostly unintentionally; and, more usefully, it's a perfect waste of time if you want to put off, for example, returning phone calls from the free clinic or your creditors. Or it makes good white noise as you declutter your closet. And bonus, it's topical, like mentioning kids eating Tide pods (points off for the less fresh "these gol-darn kids today don't wanna mow yards ... which by the way, get off my lawn!"). I'm not sure Rod ought to get credit for his self-deprecating humor as he has little else to work with but I hear he cries easily so come for the sausage and accordion talk but stay for the bashing of polka, sushi and church leagues. Hurry up, get to listening, this podcast isn't going to "fridge well." (omg, they said it was wrapping up and they're still talking and it's been days, is like your old drunk uncle saying he's leaving but an hour later you're all still standing on the porch, nodding tiredly as he tells you all about Jesus. Again.)
