RATING
I was born and raised on Islesboro, Maine, but now live in New Hampshire, and I just have to say that I love your work so much! Hearing about local cases that I had never heard of is incredibly heartbreaking. I hope to one day be able to help solve a case if anything sounds familiar. I recommend your show to everyone I know that listens to true crime, with the note that your show focuses on the victims and simply getting their names and stories out there to try to help. We need more true crime "fans" to focus on that. Thank you for all that you do!
While the hosts mainly discuss things that are going on in the book world, they also have a ton of special features like book recommendations for special times of the year (like holidays or graduation season), best of lists, buy/sell/hold features, specific book discussions for just one title per episode, adaptation discussions, and much more!I really enjoy this podcast because it helps me to stay on top of bookish news. I really appreciate that the hosts break down the news stories and fully talk them through to both explain what exactly the story means and what their personal thoughts about it are. And of course, as an analytics person, I really appreciate that they discuss and break down statistics every now and again. If you would like to stay updated on the latest news in the bookish world as a whole, I highly recommend checking this one out!
Even though this show has ended, I highly recommend checking out the backlog! This is another amazing podcast with a killer intro! I love the musical introduction and how it makes me feel super pumped up before diving into the discussion. Here’s the main crew:Brian Keene – He is such an awesome podcast host! He’s so upbeat and he’s such a great speaker. I NEED to read some of his work soon. I have Blood On The Page sitting in my TBR stack that’s screaming at me to get into it!Dave Thomas – I find myself nodding along a lot when I’m listening to Dave speak. I also share his hatred of going to the grocery store!Matt Wildasin – Matt hits my funny bone. He’s got these quick one liners that absolutely crack me up. Mary SanGiovanni – I love Mary! Her laugh never fails to make me smile or chuckle along with her. I recently read her book titled Chills and absolutely loved it!Of course, each of these people have absolutely wonderful banter with one another. I really enjoy listening to each of them and I love seeing what their opinions are on certain things. I am so proud of all of them for not shying away from the very difficult topics. However, with the last couple of situations, it was very clear how much it affected them just from the tones of their voices. It was obvious even before they laid it all out to the listeners. Brian Keene made a statement that things will need to change moving forward if he’s going to continue. I absolutely do not blame him for that and I hope that if they continue, whatever change they make makes this show much easier for them, and much more fun.But back to my raving!I always love hearing interviews with authors that I love. When I first checked the show out, I immediately downloaded the episodes featuring authors that I love.
