RATING
The sheer sexual tension that permeates quite a large portion of this episode is almost suffocating in the best possible way. Samir is a delightful narrator and brings us along his ups and downs as he goes from happy to assaulted by depression in such a raw, vulnerable manner you can see your own insecurities and struggles looking back at you. It's beautifully acted and the sound editing is impecable. I could almost feel the rain on my skin. The soundtrack gives me a warm feeling and the way we're left with a cliffhanger that just pushes us towards the second episode is hands-down one of my favourite things about this "pilot" episode.
CARAVAN is the witty and horny podcast I never knew I needed. It's been one of my favourites ever since I listened to itEvery single character we meet is delightfully unique and captivating in their own way.Samir's first-person narration sucks the listeners into his headspace and lets us tag along as he falls into the Canyon and explores its secrets and the supernatural beings inhabiting the place.I laughed a lot, cried a lot too, got horny and when I got to the first season finale, with its gripping cliffhanger, I was left wanting even more of all of them. And I bet you'll end up consuming it all with just as much thirst as I did.
This podcast right here is the reason why I decided to move from TV shows and series in general to podcasts. I gave the teaser and trailers a quick listen, decided to listen to the first episode until the end to see what it was all about and fast-forward two weeks, I had already binge listened four entire seasons, almost forgetting to take a break every few episodes, because boy, was it an intense ride. The show has a natural flow to it, with Jonathan Sims narration guiding you into this world full of weird encounters and nightmares, slowly building the setting until you suddenly see yourself caught in a spider web like trance, trying to connect the dots and figure everything out before the Archivist does. It's a nice worldbuild, A+ narration, incredible voice actors and charismatic characters that you'll love, even when they're pure evil. And only getting my friends to listen to this amazing piece of storytelling is not enough, so if you're reading my review, please believe in me. I don't recommend things lightly and this show right here deserves all the love, the spookiness and the passion it has been receiving.
