The rampant cruelty of European imperialism never ceases to amaze. This episode gives the real story without"white-washing" the tragic rape of Africa's wealth, people, and tribal structure by King Leopold. Also gave me a greater historical sense for the last Tarzan movie with Morgan Freeman!

Factual, funny, and the narrator creates a visual for the listener with his sometimes humorous, sometimes intense descriptions of conflicts and personalities that got us to U.S. All the tidbits they brushed past in class are brought forth to educate and entertain. Truly a must for history buffs and students. If not for the knowledge, listen for sheer fun. It brings stark images to life that reveals their strength and grit. Freed from dusty textbook references, this podcast gives you a real insight into the conditions that brought the whole thing about. One of my favorites for learning, insight, and a deeper appreciation for what the revolutionaries endured, and inflicted.

Excellent Eastern philosophy/morality tale.

Very scholastic and ordered approach to a key component of Judeo-Christian faith.

Penelope as Pan's mother??? Not only would that reduce Pan to demigod, it throws Ms P. under the "ho" bus! After that entire Odyssey of her devotion to Odysseus and her unending rejection of the suitors. No no a 1000x's NO! There must be a nymph or goddess to blame. Don't besmirch Ms. P. like that!

Tragic tale, but very tastefully done, as usual for these two personable hosts.

Different from the Grimm theme. Makes me curious if the host will offer a separate cast to feature this collection of recently unearthed tales, or include a number of them here.

Imaginative and tantalizing. The hosts base several stories on a listener-selected theme, e.g. gods. They also feature writing contests for listener participation. Who knew terror could be fun....

Diane and co-hosts consistently provide insight about the unique nature of each location she examines, and the oddities that created the paranormal activities detected there. Her humor, candidness, and objective views makes this one of the most entertaining and informative podcasts available anywhere. History with a supernatural element; she has come to be an icon for history buffs and the curious about haunting activity, plus the family atmosphere between her and listeners with various trips and contests. No podcast listener has a complete list without including History Goes Bump. Great T-shirt design logos too! I mean, look at the signature ghostie! When I saw him about two years ago, I knew this HAD to be a badass cast, and I was right! The first podcast I really got hooked on. Stellar job, Diane! Really hope to catch up with you both on one of your tours and someday throw some funding your way. Thanks for the joy and knowledge you bring!

Good hook. Made me a little sad as I thought of loved ones who have passed, but invoking emotion is the Hallmark of a story told well.

Candid, adult, humorous yet educational discussions about those crazy gods and foolish humans. A must for myth Greek geeks.

Great topic that is rarely explored.
