Former organizers of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign wrestle with the unexpected loss of their candidate, and find themselves unwitting leaders of the #resistance movement. What began as a tongue-in-cheek response to the 'Bernie Bro' movement and the misogynistic, white nationalist overtures that have permeated American politics, evolved into Bros for America, fighting for an inclusive, progressive, more tolerant America. With over 50% female membership and a proud legacy of LGBTQIA membership, the message is clear: our 'bros' are all of us The weekly broadcast is released Tuesdays, and the Bros will bring to you a variety of unique and thought-provoking content so that every week is a creative surprise. Whether docu-narrating an unknown historical event, or candidly discussing the resistance movement, life in the Trump fast lane, or other hot topic and current events, all while still mourning the 2016 election and offering up prescriptions and predictions for the future. In 2016, the Bros gained national media attention for their efforts to elect Hillary Clinton, including being named one of the Top 8 People or Groups working to elect Hillary Clinton by LGBTQ Nation, and ending the campaign season having developed organizing partnerships with Hillary for America and landing in the Top 10 Call Teams in the entire United States. Since then, they have partnered with Politicon, West Hollywood Women's Leadership Conference, OUT Fest, AFI Fest, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible and appeared in The Huffington Post, the LA Times, OUT, Instinct, Yahoo, the WRAP!
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is one formal group of principles accepted as fundamental by the people of all nations who have adopted it. Australia is the only western democracy without a Charter or Bill of Human Rights. There are lots of rights and freedoms that are not specifically protected by Australian law. The common law can always be overridden by contrary and unambiguous legislation passed by Parliament and the courts are powerless if Parliament passes legislation that breaches fundamental freedoms. The Human Rights Hour is aimed at arousing public discussion about essential rights both in Australia and abroad because without some sort of constitutional protection human rights can only be improved and protected through education and activism.
