The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) and Office of Academic Services (OAS) jointly organised a two-day event, Fostering Academic Integrity & Responsibility (FAIR) Day. This was held on 20 to 21 November 2012 at LT8.The inaugural event aimed to engage faculty members in discussions on fostering academic integrity and responsibility and was well attended by faculty members. The programme included a keynote address, workshops breakout and plenary sessions. The speakers addressed a range of topics in the areas of managing, detecting and dealing with plagiarism, strategies to increase student awareness, use of online plagiarism detection software, designing effective assessments to deter and minimise student plagiarism, and developing a deeper understanding of academic integrity in students.
