I was surprised by this episode. On the one hand I loved how understated this felt. It felt true to Robert's humble nature and was framed in a lovely tribute. On the other hand, Robert leaving my consistent earwaves is really making me sad. He's been a constant presence for so long, and with Jad as the surrogate for the audience, I desperately wanted it to feel bigger, to even more show Robert what he's meant to me as a listener. A feeling I imagine is felt to the nth degree by Jad himself. The episode didn't get there to me. It felt like a small celebration, an anniversary or something similar, instead of a farewell to someone who shaped something so pivotal to me. So for my personal experience, the episode was lovely, and i felt let down that the experience didn't rise to what I feel the occasion calls for.
