"At it’s core, this is a warm hearted gentle satire about life in a small Irish village. Although Brexit, xenophobia, and lying politicians are on the mind and roundly mocked, the show is really about poking fun at the neuroses and antics of its lovable idiosyncratic characters. In particular I love Garda Nugent, whose dedication to solving petty crime is at Hot Fuzz levels, and Barb, whose American overconfidence and mercenary instincts are hilarious."
