TW: This episode contains descriptions of sexuality and pornography
This is our first 'Why Are We Whispering?' podcast and I can't think of a better way to launch than with an episode that tackles 'The Death of Sex in Marriage'. On today's episode, Jennie is joined by the illustrious Emma Sayle, Founder and CEO of Killing Kittens. KK is a global phenomenon and Emma is leading the charge in women's sexual empowerment and aiding couples to explore the complexities of their sexualities and sex lives in a safe and judgement free environment. In todays episode, we have a candid conversation about why most of us experience a death of our sex lives, at one time or another, in our marriage/partnership, how we lose our sexual autonomy and/or are too afraid to voice what we need to feel sexually gratified. From childhood ideologies that have been ingrained in us, to access to mainstream porn at a young age, to social pressures of who we should be as sexual beings, and most crucially SHAME, we delve into the reasonings as to why many of us check out of our marriages sexually and discuss the ways in which we can get it back!
If you've been too nervous, afraid, embarrassed, uncomfortable or shamed to broach the conversation with your partner, OR worry that your sex life is about to take a turn into dry spell territory, then this is a MUST LISTEN!
We're having this conversation because life is hard, painful and uncomfortable... and it's like that for all of us, so LET'S STOP WHISPERING!
