My Lord, my Lord, my Lord -- I truly don't know where to begin -- of course, you can't talk trash about a queer person's self-absorption (especially if you're a straight, white dude like me). But, I'll indulge......
Very early in the episode, the guest's laconic, offended-23.7-hours per-day- existence shines through poignantly. He dominates a long bit of time talking about his "artist-in-resident" stint in New Hampshire, where he enjoyed the GROSS privilege of being paid to do such a thing -- and then talks about his struggles with all of that. Sounded like those young women on YouTube who complain of feeling 'demeaned' during their time in p*rn, then announcing they've started an OnlyFans page.🤣😁😂
So, what do we do? We grab an empty milk jar (reportedly, the PENULTIMATE PROP of 'privilege' -- I mean, there are many references in the 1940's and 50's of poor people having milk left on their front porches, but lets not deviate over into reality here) and seats himself at the edge of an amphitheater after plunking a microphone into said jar -- and hits 'record'. He then (I'm not kidding here) releases 44 minutes of wind whipping inside the jar AS A TRACK ON BANDCAMP! Hey: I like weird stuff. I really do. But: you should jump over and read the text on that page.....it's rich. God, to be an artist.
He seemingly lacks a shred of shame, so very quick to quack about how, ""White, hetero-supremacy....." is the, "....only one super villain in the world...." Sweet holy Margaret -- to live a life of such self-focus...... Anyway -- they did get into his favorite records AND I really thought it would be fair for me to listen to some of his other work on Bandcamp -- and it wasn't so bad. Really. I like weird music -- as I said. But this episode is EXHAUSTING to listen to.
After-note: The reference to the 'Exsevia' bit (remember the milk jar?) -- he does talk about the focus on just simply listening -- just sitting and listening. There is value in that -- facts!
